Social Media Impact 📱
How has social media changed/impacted your career?
More than anything social media has connected me with people I probably would have never met had it not been for the platforms. I have made lifelong friends and professional connections that have made my current career possible!
Surprises ✨
Since you've started social media, what has surprised you the most?
The pressure that analytics have when you start gaining followers. It’s a struggle when you don’t have a lot of followers to not worry about the views and likes, but when you do have followers and something isn’t performing well it feels even harder.
Challenges ⚡️
What do you think is the most challenging thing about working in social media?
Separating yourself from the numbers while staying connected to the community and the candid-like nature of it. It’s a hard balance of posting what you want but also what performs best but also show your life but also curate the content… it goes on and on. But it’s all so worth it.
Advice 💬
What is one piece of advice that you would give to aspiring creators?
Don’t set goals for views at first, set goals for consistency. Just like a sport, the more you do it the better you’ll be. The most important thing is that you learn how to keep showing up and what schedule works for you. The numbers won’t mean anything if you don’t have that discipline to keep going.
Growth 📈
If you had to contribute your growth to one thing, what would that be?
My viral laundry soap video definitely launched my entire social platform. That video came at the time when preparation met opportunity. I have been consistently making videos, so people had something to follow me for, and that video hit at the perfect time for it to go viral.
@sarahebaus I learned this laundry hack from my Mom and nose I’m sharing it with you 🥰 #diylaundrydetergent #homemadelaundrydetergent #felsnaptha #laundryhack ♬ original sound - sarahebaus
Day in the Life ☀️
What does a typical day of work look like for you?
I am now working for an agency in New York remotely as well as managing my own platforms, so I’m in and out of meetings and doing a lot of emails! While I’m working I also take breaks to film TikToks as inspiration strikes or from a list of ideas I continually add to! My top priorities are having a solid morning routine and being diligent with stepping away from the computer/phone sometimes to make sure I’m still caring for myself.
