While, for YouTube creators, it gives them the opportunity to be discovered by people who are aligned with their content but may not have originally crossed paths with their videos yet. New to You vs Explore page 🔍
The Explore page, as we know it, suggests videos that are trending worldwide. However, those videos are not necessarily tailored to our interests or likes. The ‘New to You’ feature is different in the sense that the list of videos will be tailored more to the users’ preferences based on their viewing behavior and will be videos that you haven't seen before, hence its name. ‘New to You’ is YouTube’s version of TikTok’s ‘For You Page’.
New to You vs Home page 🏠
YouTube's home page is already curated based on what you enjoy watching. If you log into your YouTube account, the first thing you will see are recommendations from YouTube. So, how is the 'New to You' page different? YouTube received feedback that the home page feels "a bit stale" and can get repetitive by only showing you content from the same creators. The 'New to You' page will be introducing you to creators you have never watched and think that you will enjoy. Like we said, win-win!
